Summer has arrived and things are certainly heating up here as hunky eNews head of weather, anchorman and meteorologist Derek van Dam makes his way to the Aquarium.

The hunky (and knowledgeable) weatherman will be swimming with our sharks in the I&J Predator Exhibit as part of a series of special inserts on climate change being filmed for use on e.tv and the eNews channel leading up to the UN COP17 conference in Durban.

If you want to see Derek dive with our sharks, make sure you are at the Aquarium this Friday, 4 November, between 9am and 11am.

Busy, have work but still would like to check out this event? No problem. Aquarium fans will know that we recently launched our live web streaming so you can watch the dive from the comfort of your computer, live on our website.

Derek is an American import who first discovered his love of Africa through conservation and philanthropic work. Check out the video below for an introduction to the charming extreme sports enthusiast:

Remember you too can experience the ragged-tooth sharks in their element with a scuba dive (no cage required), an experience impossible to recreate in the wild.

Book your trip to the Aquarium to coincide with feeding times for our collection of predators, or tune in to our live streaming video to view the event. On Sundays at 15h00, the sharks get fed … Don’t miss it!”
