This is your chance to waddle like a penguin for a good cause! You are invited to join us on this, the seventh annual Penguin Promises Waddle for a Week.

Waddle along one of the most beautiful parts of the South African coastline while raising awareness about the plight of the endangered, endemic African penguin.

Along the way visit the African penguin colonies at Betty’s Bay and Boulders Beach, interact with schools learners, with the public and with like-minded enthusiasts.

We'll also have laughs, tears, blisters (maybe) and sore legs - all for the love of penguins. 

Here's a look at last year's Waddle:

• What: The Penguin Promises Waddle for a Week
• When: 8 to 13 May 2017 (add a day each side for travelling)
• Where: Gansbaai to Simonstown, Cape Coast, South Africa. This is a 120km awareness walk on main coastal roads
• Why: To raise awareness about the decline of the African penguin (Spheniscus demersus) as well as environmental health. To network with other passionate conservationists.
• Who: Anyone with a powerful and convincing application. We would love to host many internationals for the seventh annual Waddle, as this is most likely to be the last in its current format. You also need to be fit enough to walk 15 to 30 road kilometres for six consecutive days.
• Cost: From 8 to 13 May, all costs* are covered. This includes accommodation, transport, campaign T-shirts, meals and snacks, and first aid supplies. *Each waddler is responsible for their travel costs to and from Cape Town.
