The Waddle for a Week is an annual event that brings together committed, conservation-minded citizens keen to raise awareness about the plight of the African penguin.
Starting in Gansbaai, the waddlers covered a 124km route along the Western Cape coast to raise awareness for the African penguin which was once abundant in this area.
This endemic species is now endangered, and some scientists project that they could become extinct within the next 20 years due to a dramatic drop in the number of breeding pairs.
Although waddlers were upset to find that their van had been broken into at the overnight stop in Muizenberg, the day ended on a high note as Capetonians turned out in force to support them on their last leg of the journey that would end at the penguin colony at Boulder's Beach, one of the last stronghold of Africa's only penguin.
Here's how Day Six went, in tweets.
