Here’s a great little video, just under three minutes long, of the great variety of sea life that can be seen at the Two Oceans Aquarium. Watch as a bluestreak cleaner wrasse hovers around our honeycomb moray eel, then get a close-up of the elegant devil firefish. You’ll see the clownfish, of course, as well as the delightful giant red hermit crab. Move into the Ocean Basket Kelp Forest Exhibit, and then say hello to the ragged-tooth sharks and Yoshi, the loggerhead turtle, who live in the I&J Predator Exhibit.
Extended hours
The Two Oceans Aquarium will be open from 09h00 to 20h00 every day until 8 January 2012, giving you more time to enjoy the perfectly long, hot summer days in Cape Town. Come and cool down among our serene sea scenes and enjoy guilt-free, sustainable seafood at Shoreline Café (closing at 19h30 until 8 January).
The play centre at Shoreline Café is the only dedicated children’s play area in the V&A Waterfront, with jungle gyms and more keeping the kids occupied. Shoreline Café is also the first restaurant in Africa to obtain Marine Stewardship Council chain-of-custody certification – in partnership with I&J, we’ve put sustainable seafood on the South African map.
Our Afrisam Children’s Play Centre, which overlooks the penguin pool, has a great holiday craft schedule.
