Turtally awesome sleepover 5 July 2014

Dress up as your favourite sea creature, make a clay turtle bowl and watch a movie – it’s our Turtally Awesome Adventure family sleepover on 5 July.

Kevin Spiby, the senior aquarist in charge of the I&J Predator Exhibit and the Turtle Rehabilitation Programme, will share how we care for stranded turtles that are found on our beaches and brought to us.

Kevin’s talk will set the scene for a fun-filled evening, which includes meeting Hatch the Turtle during the puppet show and then getting all messy with clay – we will guide you in making super-duper sharks or turtle bowls.

Round off the night by watching a movie on our big-screen TV, before drifting off in your snug sleeping bag. You will know it’s time to rise and shine when rays of sunshine light up the tanks. Before you leave, we will serve you breakfast at the Shoreline Café.

Please bear in mind:

  • The sleepover starts at 18h30 on 5 July and ends at 08h00 on Sunday 6 July
  • We can only accommodate 130 people, so book early
  • The sleepover costs R220 per adult, R180 for children aged four to 13, and R140 for children aged between two to three. The sleepover may not be suitable for children younger than two
  • Pack a supper picnic, sleeping bag or mattress, pillow, blankets, toiletries and a change of clothes
  • Bookings close on 4 July, or when fully subscribed
