Tunnel vision at the Aquarium as construction continues

We are expanding! And today was a major milestone in the construction of our brand-new predator exhibit.

Three main windows that form part of the new exhibit arrive this week, having been shipped over from Italy. Take a look at the list of construction blogs at the bottom of this post to read more about these impressive pieces of engineering.

Staff, visitors, members of the media and Waterfront passers-by were present at the arrival of the first piece today – the 10-metre long, 4-metre wide tunnel that will provide an amazing walk-through experience of the new exhibit.

Watch the video to see it arriving:

More pieces will arrive tomorrow – remember that this is causing some road closures around the V&A Waterfront, so it’s best to enter using Granger Bay and Portswood Boulevards if you are in the area.
