The Two Oceans Aquarium has extended its hours over the festive season so that visitors can relax in our cool tranquilllity after a long day at the beach or the mall. Combine the splendour of the oceans with a sundowner meal at Shoreline Café for the perfect end to a day in paradise! We’ll be open from 09h00 to 20h00 between 16 December, 2010 and 9 January, 2011.
The Aquarium tends to be quieter towards the end of the day, so avoid the crowds from 17h00 onwards for sensational serenity.
If you’re on holiday with young kids, you can see the Aquarium and catch an early dinner at Shoreline Café, which also happens to house the first (and only) dedicated children’s play centre in the V&A Waterfront
Sundowners on the deck of Shoreline Café deck offer stunning views of the yacht marina, Table Mountain and seals on the new SAPPI Seal Platform – avoid the crazy crowds at the other V&A hotspots!
An Aquarium ticket is an all day ticket – so if you come in the morning or at any point during the day and it’s too busy, come back later for a more chilled experience. Buy your ticket online to skip the ticket office queue.
Besides a myriad of spectacular exhibits, the Aquarium offers holiday activities including arts and crafts and puppet shows in the AfriSam Children’s Centre, which overlooks a pool full of rockhopper penguins.
Don’t forget our feeding times for short informal talks and nature’s lunchtime on display.
Sea you at the Aquarium! Here’s to a long, hot summer.
