Here are some more photographs of our amazing night at the Amazing Space event, which was hosted at the Two Oceans Aquarium on Tuesday 13 September. Surprises, competitions, great food, makeovers, spot prizes and lots of happy socialising were the order of the evening. The event was organised by the Two Oceans Aquarium as a way to thank all our wonderful tourism and retail partners who have supported us over the years.

A big thank you to our on-site photographers, Kodak Tijan Media Concepts, for embracing the cold and snapping away as a 100-or-so women ran around the V&A Waterfront completing tasks and competing for a stunning goodie bag.
The evening started off with cocktails and canapés at Shoreline Café; at this point, no one knew what was in store!
Soon, all was revealed. Teams were given clue cards that contained anagrams – each anagram was the name of a site at the V&A Waterfront. Teams then had to rush to each location and complete a task. Here, the pink team is seen entering The Body Shop, where one team member had to give another a hand massage.
At One&Only Cape Town, the stunning hotel next to the Aquarium, one team member had to make a cocktail based on a short demonstration given by the hotel’s resident mixologist.
On board the Nautilus, teams had to locate the room they could have the most fun in. The blue team, seen here, were eventual winners of the race – well done, you prevailed in the face of some fierce competition!
The race through the V&A took contestants to every corner of the precinct – including Chavonnes Battery and Auditorium.
The mad rush to get back to the Aquarium was worth it: a delicious dinner awaited – vegetarian, sustainable seafood and chicken options were served up by Shoreline Cafe in bite-size portions, which was much-needed fuel for the rest of the evening’s exciting events …
Awesome glitter tattoos were sponsored by Yacoob Yachts.
The Body Shop’s Karim Sattar presented a delightfully funny and informative make-up workshop. Everyone at the Two Oceans Aquarium has grown quite fond of Karim, who also directed a photographic shoot for The Body Shop at the Aquarium earlier in the day.
Too pretty to eat! But that didn’t stop us ... These gorgeous – and delicious – cupcakes are by Frostings. Bliss!
More prizes! The Aquarium’s fabulous diving men dipped into the ice-cold water of the I&J Predator Exhibit sans wetsuits to perform a random draw. Tickets for the Table Mountain cableway, Thai massage vouchers and the opportunity to have make-up done by The Body Shop professionals were given away to the ladies.
Do you know about Chic Mammas? This fantastic endeavour calls itself a “charity fashion exchange”. At its monthly fundraising events, it sells donated and “no-longer- wanted” garments from boutique and designer labels. Proceeds go to educational projects in underprivileged areas of South Africa. The Two Oceans Aquarium loves this idea!
Thanks again to everyone who attended. It was a good, good night.
