Shake a tail feather and enter our penguin competition!

Stuart Buchanan

We’ve been celebrating our fluffy feathered friends recently – through our own African Penguin Awareness Day events, as well as by getting behind the Penguin Run. Even pop sensation Rihanna couldn’t resist a visit during her recent Cape Town visit. We love penguins, and we’re sure that you will too – especially after getting to see them up close.

A visit to the Sappi River Meander at the Two Oceans Aquarium offers you the chance to see them interacting on their very own beach, swimming in a tidal pool, and hanging out around their nests. If you visit them at 11h45 or 14h30 on any day of the week, you’ll even get to see them feeding, and hear more about this endangered species from one of our penguin experts.

But you can even go one step further – join us for a Penguin Encounter and experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see penguins closer than ever before. This informative, fun and exhilarating face-to-face encounter with our rockhopper penguins lasts roughly 30 minutes, but will stay with you forever.

Win a penguin hamper

We want you to experience the joy that these adorable little birds bring to all of us, so we are giving away a penguin hamper that consists of:

  • A Penguin Encounter for one adult and one child (eight years old and up)
  • An adult-size penguin T-shirt
  • A fluffy penguin plush toy

That’s enough to give anyone happy feet!
