‘Save the whales’ cake brings birthday party joy

Ingrid Sinclair

We love hosting young sea fans’ birthday parties at the Two Oceans Aquarium – the joy on their faces is often the most gratifying part. And we love it when these young ones exhibit discerning marine conservation ethics, too.

This is exactly what happened when a 10-year-old girl, Camryn, brought a “save the whales” birthday cake for her big day.

Here’s what Camryn’s mom, Amelia, had to say about the day:

“Thank you for making Camryn’s 10th birthday such a wonderful and memorable experience, a birthday that Camryn said she will remember for the rest of her life. The kids and parents who attended were really impressed and said that they would definitely consider hosting a party at your venue.

“The experience was absolutely amazing and everything was on time and conducted professionally by your staff. Camryn and the rest of the girls were also able to see the 16h00 puppet show, which was a nice surprise as the girls did not expect this.

“We also appreciated the fact that your manager came into the party room, introduced himself to us and asked us if we are happy with everything.

“We are 100% satisfied with the service that we were given and the politeness of your staff.

“[Aquarium staff member] Heloise is amazing with the kids and just by mentioning Camryn’s name during the tour she really made Camryn feel special. Heloise also arranged for the puppeteers to sing Happy Birthday to Camryn! Camryn was blown away by this …

“Ending off, I would like to add that the money we spent was worth it.”
