The Reach For A Dream Foundation, a charity that aims to put a smile on the face of a child facing a life-threatening illness, recently brought 24 kids from the Etafeni Day Care Centre Trustto visit the Two Oceans Aquarium.

On Friday 14 December 2012, Father Christmas paid a visit to Cape Town’s Two Oceans Aquarium! Carrying a bag laden with 24 wrapped gifts, Santa helped light up the faces of the children from the Etafeni Day Care Centre Trust. Ramzi and Nicole Mansour had chosen to celebrate an early Christmas at the Aquarium with Reach For A Dream!
The afternoon’s festivities began with a tour around the Aquarium. The children gawked through the glass at each sea creature, with our two wonderful sponsors and hosts, Ramzi and Nicole Mansour, following the excited kids around. We loved watching the penguins being fed, too.
Soon it was time for lunch. A beautifully prepared party table greeted the hungry kids! Our sponsors and the Aquarium had organised individual party packs, buckets and spades, and treated the kids to a delicious lunch.
Father Christmas made his appearance, spoiling the children further! Each child was also treated to a sea-themed tattoo. We ended the afternoon with a hilarious puppet show. Tummies full and happy faces, 24 little bodies climbed onto the bus and returned home – ready to tell many fishy tales!
To Colleen and the Aquarium Team: Thank you for hosting us so well. The children loved their time spent learning more about the ocean and its inhabitants and loved the delicious lunch and treats so beautifully prepared.
