Rockhopper penguins are the smallest of the crested penguin species. They live on rocky, inaccessible coasts. Called Rockhopper penguins because they can hop up steep slopes to go to their nests.
This penguin species is relatively small compared with other penguin species, but they are not the quietest. The are a loud species of bird which also communicates with head shaking, head and flipper waving, bowing, gesturing and preening.
