Stephanie Mazingi recently visited Cape Town for the first time. Here, she shares her experience at the Two Oceans Aquarium.
We arrived at the Two Oceans Aquarium only to stop and stare for some time at the huge ships nearby, which only make you want to explore even more. Once inside the Aquarium the friendliest staff welcomed us and said we were just in time to catch the feeding of the penguins.
We watched these rather delightful creatures chow down while we received some info on what we could do to save their extinction. Afterwards we watched the feeding of the stingrays, which are kept in the biggest exhibit in the Aquarium – the I&J Predator Exhibit – along with turtles, ragged-tooth sharks and many other enormous, interesting looking fish.
I couldn’t get enough of the beautiful colours of the turtles and the docile sharks but eventually we left to take in the other exhibits, one of which we could even stick our heads through!
The Aquarium has so much to see you can barely finish it in a day. The Aquarium guide told us we could come back and book to dive with the sharks which I will definitely be going back for!
