Photos and feedback: A mini-Waddle for the African penguin

Renée Leeuwner

We enjoyed a fantastic turnout for the Penguin Promises Waterfront Waddle this past Saturday 13 October, which was International African Penguin Day. The Two Oceans Aquarium would like to thank you all for your support!

The short and the tall of it?! African penguins are currently endangered and only us humans can rectify this. The birds are relying on us to make the difference we know we can.

Visit www.penguinpromises.com to see how each individual can make the difference required.

A woman's best friend ...

All species matter, and even three dogs stepped out in support of the African penguin.

Why waddle when you can ride? A dedicated mom waddled as well as pushed her son all the way, now that’s devotion to a cause!

Samantha definitely had everyone’s attention en route.

A whopping 360 hoots for the African penguin were counted! Hooting creates “action learning”, which means that the “hootee” will remember our efforts and maybe even take action in support of the campaign…
