The Two Oceans Aquarium is proud to be hosting the 24th Conference and Annual General Meeting of PAAZAB (African Association of Zoos and Aquaria). The conference will take place from 22-25 April 2013 at Club Mykonos, Langebaan. The theme of this year’s conference is “Zoos and Aquaria of the Future”.
PAAZAB was formed in 1989. Its aim is to represent bona fide zoos and aquaria on the African continent, and its mission is to further conservation through co-operation. To this end, the organisation represents 70 institutional, affiliate and associate members in 12 African countries.
The conference will be attended by directors, curators and senior staff of the various institutions represented by PAAZAB. The Two Oceans Aquarium is a patron member of PAAZAB. Other South African members include uShaka Marine World, the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa, the Johannesburg Zoo and Butterfly World, among others.
