Calling Solemates! Join us in Hermanus on 22 October to spot the southern right whales on their annual visit to our waters. Celebrated artist, scientist and conservationist Noel Ashton will teach us more about these gentle giants while leading the guided walk along the beautiful coastal cliff paths.

The walk is 6km long and takes approximately two hours.

Southern right whales give birth and care for their young in the safe environment of Walker Bay, so you may even spot whale calves frolicking alongside their mothers. Hear the calls of the Whale Crier, the only one of his kind in the world. Discover why whales breach and what lobtailing and spyhopping is all about.

Please note: This is a self-drive event. Meet us at Gearing’s Point in Hermanus at 10h00 where Noel will meet us for a presentation at the Whale Museum. We complete our guided walk at approximately 13h00.

You are welcome to continue your stay in Hermanus by browsing through the craft markets, visiting one of the many café’s or restaurants and perhaps even staying to watch the sunset.

Price:  R80 per adult and R40 per child between four and 13 years.
