A brightly illustrated tour de force through the animal kingdom presented by Mike Bruton, founder of the MTN Sciencentre in Cape Town.
This talk includes many animals from marine and coastal environments that are not that well known by the general public.
It’s an interactive talk, so the audience will be invited to debate philosophical questions like, “What is an animal?”, to identify the animals shown, to correct any misidentifications and to determine whether or not animals are, in fact, weird.
Mike Bruton used to be the Two Oceans Aquarium Director: Environmental Education Centre.

Behind the Scenes tour – Saturday, 23 April
Yup, they always look this happy ...
Join the Aquarium’s technical department on this exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Aquarium.
Find out where the Aquarium gets it sea water from, how this water is filtered and learn about the multitude of processes that take place here every day to maintain our exhibits.
You will also have an opportunity to see the quarantine area, the Kelp Forest Exhibit wave machine and take a look at the I&J Predator Exhibit from above. A must-do event for home aquarist or anyone who’s ever been even mildly intrigued by our operations!
Time: Approximately 09h00 to 12h00
Price: R25 per person
Due to the nature of this event, bookings are limited.
Please note: This tour is suitable for children 8 or older, and they must be accompanied by an adult.
