This event is provisionally fully booked.
Members of the Two Oceans Aquarium are invited to an exclusive morning event to celebrate the love, life and release of the amazing, the breathtaking, the incredibly loved Yoshi the loggerhead turtle.
Yoshi has been the Queen of the Two Oceans Aquarium for more than 20 years, and along the way she’s made thousands of friends and fans. We know that this beautiful creature has crept into the hearts of all of you and your kin, and that’s why we want to give you a special opportunity to come and say goodbye to Yoshi before her release some time in December.
We’ll be opening the Aquarium early on Saturday 25 November especially for our members to come and say goodbye. RSVPs are essential. Arrive from 7:30am for 8am when we’ll meet at the I&J Ocean Exhibit. Two Oceans Aquarium Communications & Sustainability Manager Helen Lockhart will tell you more about Yoshi, how she arrived at the Aquarium (she was the size of a dinner plate!) and about her life here with us in Cape Town. Our Turtle Conservation Coordinator Talitha Noble will then share some of the information regarding Yoshi’s preparations for release and what she might encounter once she’s out there.
Little ones will be able to craft their own Yoshi souvenirs at the arts 'n crafts tables before you take your farewell family photo with the Queen of the Aquarium. Remember to share your Yoshi memories and photos on our members-only Facebook group! Refreshments will be served.
Capacity for this event is limited to 150 people, so please RSVP soon to avoid disappointment.
