Congratulations to our Deputy Head of Education, Bianca Engel, who won the Marine Educator of the Year Award at the recent MCEN (Marine and Coastal Educators’ Network) conference. Among many other activities, Bianca runs the successful De Beers Marine Young Biologist courses which are attended by 50 Grade 10 students from schools around Cape Town.

One of the recent graduates was invited to represent the youth of South Africa at the Copenhagen Summit on Climate Change in December 2009.

Another one of our teachers, Khonzani Lembeni, won the award for Best Presentation at the conference.
