Guided tours

Taking place Monday to Friday at 11am and 2pm for the duration of the school holidays. It’s an ideal opportunity to learn more about the Aquarium and the animals that live here.

Daily food specials

Shoreline Café is running daily specials during the holidays ... check out the signage for more. We bake most of our goodies in-house, so be on the lookout for freshly baked muffins, waffles and a selection of cakes.

Fishy Flippers

From Tuesday 15 July to Friday 18 July we will be hosting the Fishy Flippers show at 12.30pm at the I&J Predator exhibit.

Fishy Flippers is an interactive, spontaneous and playful storytelling show about a little boy who finds a lost penguin on his doorstep. Two clowns invite the audience to explore the shores of their imagination as the little boy and the lost penguin set off on an adventure in search of home, only to find it within each other. This is a story of an unusual and delightful friendship, told by two (very silly) clowns! In 2013, Fishy Flippers won the Audience Favourite Award at the Musho! Festival and went on to enjoy great success during the ASSITEJ Family Season in the Western Cape. The show is performed in collaboration with Clowns Without Borders South Africa.

Mascots

Meet Samantha the Penguin and her friends. It’s always a delight for the little ones to see a giant penguin walking around and giving hugs.

Arts and crafts

It’s turtle season (a time where sightings increase, and sadly, some of our shelled friends get washed up on the beach), and so we have a turtely awesome theme at the AfriSam Children’s Play Centre. Notebooks, magnets, mobiles, masks and bracelets are just some of the goodies that the kids can get stuck into making.

Book readings and puppet shows

Talking about those heroes in a half-shell, come and listen to the story, I Love Turtles, which is both a book and a puppet show! Enjoy book readings and free hot chocolate every day at 10.15am, 1.15pm and 3.45pm, followed by a puppet show.
