It is almost that time of the year again! Join hundreds of thousands of volunteers around the world who’ll be making our planet a cleaner place on International Coastal Cleanup Day, Saturday, 15 September 2012. Marine pollution is one of the biggest problems facing the world today: It destroys the environment and endangers wildlife.
Last year, an astonishing half-a-million volunteers around the world took part, and collected more than 4-million kilograms of litter. The main polluters, in order of quantity, are cigarette butts, bottle caps and lids, plastic bottles and plastic bags.
