The Two Oceans Aquarium’s restaurant Shoreline Café, in association with I&J, will host a fantastic food tasting event this weekend. I&J’s Surfing Chef Phillip Myburgh – whose sole mission is to create awareness around sustainable seafood – will be at the Aquarium on Saturday, 15 October from 11h00 to 15h00 to prepare prime deep-water hake fillets. Have a taste, then make your way to Shoreline Café to enjoy coconut and lime encrusted deep-water hake with a roasted cherry tomato, red onion and corn salad (R45). This delicious meal will be prepared by Shoreline’s head chef Juan de Allende and his passionate team.
Shoreline Café is the first restaurant in Africa to be awarded Chain-of-Custody certification from the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and we are extremely proud to be associated with I&J. We are committed to sustainable seafood sourcing, to provide you with an easy way to make the best environmental choice when eating at the Aquarium.
I&J’s prime deep-water hake fillets are MSC-certified, and hake is on the South African Sustainable Seafood Initiative’s (SASSI) “green” list. Dig in!
Visit us this weekend to meet I&J’s Surfing Chef (on Saturday from 11h00 to 15h00), enjoy a delicious guilt-free seafood meal at Shoreline Café and visit our fish, cephalopods, penguins, turtles and frogs.
