Women’s Day is a day we hold dear here at the Two Oceans Aquarium. Sure, we have many females among our creatures – there’s Zuki, the African penguin, for instance – but, did you know: We currently employ 45 women – that’s 51.72% of our total staff compliment, not including casual staff like volunteers.

MJ, Kay, Jess, Bagel and Nasa are the five female ragged-tooth sharks that dominate the I&J Predator Exhibit. These “divas from the deep” enthrall one and all.

The curatorial team, which cares for our plants and animals, consists of almost 50% pure girl power!  Our entire marketing team is made up of women, and the communications and sustainability department is also lead by two women; the list goes on ...

So today is all about the sisters, old and young … If you’re not a member of the finer sex, here are some ways you can spoil the women in your life.
