A few Two Oceans Aquarium staff members were in Durban this weekend for Indaba 2011: one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar and one of the top three must-visit events of its kind on the global calendar.
“Our main focus at this year’s Indaba was to promote the Go Cape Town initiative, which was launched at Indaba 2010,” says Two Oceans Aquarium Assistant Marketing Manager Alichia Nortje.
The Go Cape Town card is a package deal that entitles the ticket holder to see the best Cape Town has to offer: A ride up Table Mountain with the Table Mountain Cableway, a tour on a bright red CitySightseeing open-top bus and a visit to the Two Oceans Aquarium at a competitive rate (R375 for adults and R190 for kids).
Now that Cape Town has been named the top destination in the world by TripAdvisor readers, we’re willing to bet the Go Cape Town card is going to be very popular …
“Apart from enjoying a fantastic mix of premier attractions, Go Cape Town cards have a three-month validity, which appeals to locals as much as it does to international travellers,” says Jacinta Subjee.
The popularity of the combo offering is borne out by recent bookings.
“We recorded excellent usage of the Go Cape Town card during April this year, which was very encouraging,” says Nortje.
The open-top bus trips, which depart at 20-minute intervals, provide a perfect scenic link between the Aquarium and Table Mountain Cableway.
Go Cape Town cards are available at all three attractions or online at www.webtickets.co.za.
