What’s not to love about Creative Nature’s new colouring and activity book for kids between 4 and 12 years? It’s called Seashore and it features all our favourite local marine friends: the African penguin, abalone, oystercatchers, a Cape clawless otter and loads (loads) more.

The Creative Nature books are made to inspire young minds and hearts and to nuture their relationship with nature. Using art, story-telling and play to capture children’s attention, these books can be used with or without adult interaction, so they can be enjoyed by the whole family or make for fun solo time.

The creative forces behind this issue in the series are animal communicator, nature guide and environmental educator Kate Muller and Aaniyah Omardien, a mother of two who worked for the World Wide Fund for Nature for nearly a decade.

“This book provides a special opportunity for a young child to feel the excitement of connecting to wild nature on his or her doorstep, an opportunity to become a young naturalist, the first step to a lifetime of deep joy on the edge of the sea.” – Craig Foster, filmmaker and author, Sea Change

The release is right on time for the summer holiday season! The in-depth info is sure to keep kids fascinated and stimulated. It is available online and in store at select retailers for R90 to R110 each. This is a wonderful idea for a Christmas gift that won’t cost the earth.

The Seashore colouring and activity book is the second book in the Creative Nature series, the first was the very popular Fynbos book. Reviewed by field experts, the content in these books is rooted in fascinating scientific information about species and ecosystems and in how us humans can play a positive role in helping the planet.

“An imaginative and poetic communication of the fascination of our shores. A gift for the young (and the not-so-young) who want to explore the facts and colours of the sea world. ” – Margo and George Branch, authors of "The Living Shores of Southern Africa", "Two Oceans: A Guide to the Marine Life of Southern Africa" and
