On 16 August the Aquarium will be the venue for a 1000Drawings doodle session, to raise funds to help the Thomas Wildschutt Primary School in Retreat with a number of its programmes.

The Aquarium will be giving 100 complimentary tickets to the organisers, 1000Drawings, which they, in turn, will pass on to under-resourced people and students who would like to doodle for the cause.

Beside the 100 tickets that we are donating, anyone can participate in the session. You can buy an entrance ticket at the ticket office or online.

The money raised from the main event goes to the upliftment of the school for its GreenPop greening, See-Saw-Do mural and H.E.L.P educational assistance programmes.

The doodles will go up for sale at the Good Hope Centre on Saturday 28 August 2014, in a one-night-only, massive The Night of a 1000Drawings art sale.

Buyers will choose between doodles, scribbles, graffiti, sketches, watercolour and oil paintings, experimental and conceptual works, at R100 a piece.
