The September school holidays are around the corner, and so is African Penguin Awareness Day (celebrated on 2 October), so we’ve lined up super-duper craft activities for this period at the AfriSam Children’s Centre.

Bring the kids and let them make everything from penguin masks and nests to penguin flags, finger puppets and pencil holders … all from recycled materials.

They’ll get to learn more about Zuki, our famous African penguin ambassador, and while they craft and create, can watch rockhopper and king penguins swimming around outside.

From Friday 24 September to Sunday 3 October, kids can look forward to working with wool, newspaper, pipe cleaner, egg cartons and empty toilet rolls to make wonderful arts and crafts. It’s sure to be educational, environmentally friendly and fun!

And it happens to leave plenty of time for the parents to amble through our serene exhibits …
