The geometric moray eel (Gymnothorax griseus) does not sport the colourful flair of the honeycomb moray eel, but what it lacks in colour it definitely makes up for in sheer peculiarity! You would be forgiven if you thought this eel was a juvenile; but in fact, this is what the adult of the species looks like. The geometric moray eel is found throughout the western Indian Ocean.
