Food, fish and fun: grabbing a meal at the Aquarium

Shoreline Café's interior

After a great meal at reasonable prices, which you can enjoy while soaking up one of the best views at the V&A Waterfront? Look no further than Shoreline Café at the Two Oceans Aquarium.

Fish watching and shark spotting is thirsty (and hungry) work, especially for younger marine explorers. At our deli and self-service facility, you can choose to stock up on provisions before heading off on your Aquarium adventure or refuel after your trip.

You don’t have to visit the Aquarium itself to come and enjoy the food and atmosphere – many people gravitate straight to the café and its spectacular views of the yacht marina and majestic Table Mountain.

Patrons can pick and choose their own snacks and drinks, or hit the buffet tables at breakfast and lunch. You don’t even need to book to come and enjoy a delicious meal surrounded by the creatures of the ocean.

Meals range from light snacks to generous servings – including burgers, sandwiches, pastas, steaks and (of course) fish and chips. We make sure to serve only fish that appears on the Southern Africa Sustainable Seafood Initiative’s green list, like calamari and hake.

Green list species are well-managed and sustainable populations that aren’t under threat from overfishing. Vegetarian options are also available at Shoreline Café.

The children's play area

Parents wanting to enjoy a quiet meal can shepherd their kids off to the ever-popular children’s play centre (the only one of its kind at the Waterfront).

This brightly coloured play area, with its grassy floor and exciting playground apparatus, will keep youngsters entertained for hours. It also sports a spacious baby changing area and toddler-proof glass.

The Shoreline Café is open daily from 09h00 to 18h00. Please note, though, that the kitchen closes at 17h30.

For more information, please contact the Shoreline Café Manager on 021 418 8645/6. You can also send an e-mail to manager@shorelinecafe.co.za.
