Please note: We have temporarily suspended the scheduled feeding time presentations.
Feeding time at the Aquarium is always exciting. If you time your trip well you can watch us feed the animals, including the sharks.
The I&J Predator Exhibit is one of the most popular at the Aquarium. Ensure you make your way to the exhibit at 15h00 daily to see shoals of yellowtail, dusky kob and black musselcracker being fed. The ragged-tooth sharks are fed at 15h00 every Sunday. Divers feed the rays, and Yoshi the turtle at 15h00 every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Animals in the Ocean Basket Kelp Forest Exhibit are fed at 12h00 every Wednesday and Saturday. The underwater forest is home to an array of fish and other sea creatures, which feed and take cover among the swaying kelp.
The Penguin Exhibit showcases African penguins, rockhopper penguins, African black oystercatchers and a wide selection of freshwater fish, both indigenous and alien to Western Cape rivers. A bird hide, overlooking the rockhopper rookery offers people a place to sit and relax in this peaceful riverine environment. The African penguins are fed at 11h45 and 14h30 daily.
Plan your trip to the Aquarium so that you, too, can see how we feed the animals. Your ticket is valid for the entire day, which means you can come and go when you want to.
