I am very excited to announce that early-bird registration for the 2012 International Aquarium Congress (IAC) is now open. Your host, the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town, South Africa, looks forward to welcoming you to our shores from 9 to 14 September 2012.
The IAC, which takes place every four years, is the most important and prestigious event for the public aquarium industry. It has been held in several countries, covering Europe, the Americas and Asia, and was most recently held in Shanghai, China, in 2008. 2012 marks the first year that the congress will take place in the southern hemisphere and on African soil.
And with the 2012 IAC just a year away, early-bird registration is now open at a reduced rate. You’ll pay just R5 000 if you register between now and 31 January 2012.
Our preliminary programme is currently being developed, and we’re already excited by the variety of themes that will be on offer. From environmental sustainability and new business opportunities to education, conservation, visitor experiences and technological advances, the 2012 IAC will offer an in-depth look at all issues affecting the aquarium industry.
For the latest updates and to keep in touch with our journey, join the 2012 IAC group on LinkedIn or follow us on Twitter.
The 2012 IAC local organising committee has put together convenient accommodation options in Cape Town at special rates.
If you are interested in sponsoring any aspect of the IAC, we have developed a number of opportunities to suit a wide range of budgets and requirements – from top-end endorsements to highly prized green initiatives, as well as a host of advertising and advertorial opportunities.
For exhibitors, this is the chance to showcase your best to the aquarium community, with more opportunities for networking and more new ideas than ever before. Visit our website to view our exhibition space at the world-class Cape Town International Convention Centre and book your spot today.
We look forward to welcoming you at the 2012 IAC.
