Between 13 and 18 April 2015, a group of crazy, dedicated and passionate people will be walking along the Western Cape coast to raise awareness about a very special animal: the African penguin.
Once abundant in the Cape, this endemic species is now endangered, and there are too few breeding pairs left alive today to sustain the population. African penguins could be completely extinct within the next 20 years.
But we can change that! Join us as we Waddle for a Week between Gansbaai and Simon's Town, encouraging others to make a Penguin Promise, and of course, hoot for penguins!
Win a penguin hamper
While our waddlers are raising awareness about African penguins, we invite you to make people aware of our waddlers.
If you spot the waddlers on their journey, snap a photo of them (or even better, go up and say hi, and then take a photo with them) and post it online.
Make sure you tag us in the picture! At the end of the Waddle, one lucky winner will win a penguin plush toy from our gift shop, as well as a penguin encounter at the Two Oceans Aquarium.
