Marmo is the face of PUMA’s recently launched youth ocean conservation campaign. He enjoys long swims in the sea, playing with friends, asking questions and helping others.
Marmo will be in Cape Town from 25 November and will make guest appearances at the Two Oceans Aquarium for readings of his children’s book, Marmo Saves Our Seas. These will take place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, at 10h30, from 25 November through to 10 December. Make sure you visit us to meet Marmo and learn more about his adventures!
But something is very wrong with the ocean, and Marmo wants to make it better. He knows that even the smallest task can make a big difference (cleaning your room, sharing with friends, and recycling, too) and he wants people and sea creatures around the world to help him. He thinks that if we all chip in, we can make the ocean better for everyone.
Marmo is also the official mascot for the PUMA team in the ongoing Volvo Ocean Race, inspired by their magnificent boat Mar Mostro.
Fans can track the team’s progress, and read regular updates from Marmo, which will include information about marine wildlife and habitats, as well as educational games and quizzes.
In addition, this adventurous little sea creature is the star of PUMA’s illustrated children’s book, Marmo Saves Our Seas. The book aims to educate children and their families about the importance of preserving the wonders of our oceans.
The book is fun, accessible and explores the ways in which small changes, such as giving up plastic bags, can have a big impact on conserving aquatic life. It will be available in six languages namely English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic and Portuguese.

We have a feeling that this little octopus is onto something very big.
