Grade 9 is an important stage in a high schoolers life, since at the end of the that year they need to make a decision about their final subject choices. Owing to the fact that we have had many of our grade 10 Young Biologists lamenting that they do not have the correct subjects in order to study marine biology, we decided to run a grade 9 course called SeaFans.
Our SeaFans course aims to illustrate to grade 9s what being a marine scientist is all about. The course covers geographical, oceanographical and zoological aspects of marine science, showcasing the variety of professions that exist in this very broad field. By the end of the course, grade 9s should have a clear idea of which subjects they need to choose in order to follow a career path in the marine science field.
The course is free of charge and we can accept a maximum of 50 students.
