“It’s always good to come to the Indaba,” say Two Oceans Aquarium exhibit representatives – Alichia Nortje, Renée Leeuwner and Jacinta Subjee – who were proudly showing off their new website to visitors at the stand.

The trio describe South Africa’s premier tourism event as a great opportunity to network and catch up with new tourism trends and old friends.

The Aquarium’s primary focus this year is to market its Go Cape Town card – a three-in-one entry to Table Mountain, Two Oceans Aquarium and City Sightseeing. The positive response to the concept has been encouraging.

Commenting that Saturday and Sunday mornings were particularly busy at the Aquarium this year, the team said it was encouraging to witness firsthand the growth of the South African tourism industry.

“The recession and budget cuts have had an impact on exhibits this year. This year the stands were noticeably smaller, but people have made a greater effort to decorate and add value to their product offering,” the representatives said.
