Ten reasons to visit the Aquarium

Stuart Buchanan

For me, every trip to the Two Oceans Aquarium is special. Here are 10 of my favourite photos I’ve taken there recently, all representing something worth seeing.

The Ocean Basket Kelp Forest Exhibit. Read why my it's my favourite exhibit here. All photos by Stuart Buchanan
A baby eagle ray appears to be smiling as it glides past
A rare opportunity presents itself when the grumpy-looking false stonefish is not hiding in the rocks
A starfish clings to the side of an exhibit
This is Kaptein, the resident mudskipper, with his eyes peering out of the water
I even got to take a ride on the Ocean Adventurer, which offers Aquarium visitors a marine eco-tour of the Table Bay harbour and surrounds
The jellies (I've learned that this is the correct term, rather than 'jellyfish') of the Atlantic Ocean Gallery are always fascinating
The octopus spends much of its time hiding away, so seeing it active is a real treat
Some of the many miniature creatures to be seen in real life, and magnified on the big screen, at the Hi-Tec Microscope Exhibit
I even get to attend penguin birthday parties as part of my job! Who could ask for more?
